Matcha Furui-kan | Japanese Matcha Canister & Sifter Set

A traditional Japanese matcha sifter container, known as 抹茶ふるい缶 / Matcha Furui-kan, used to gently sift matcha powder before preparation.

Matcha naturally forms small clumps due to its very fine texture. By passing the powder through the fine mesh sieve, the matcha becomes softer, lighter, and easier to whisk, helping create a smoother bowl of matcha with a more velvety finish.

How to use

Add your desired amount of matcha powder into the sieve. Use the wooden spatula to gently press the powder through the mesh into the container below. Once sifted, transfer the fine matcha powder into your matcha bowl and prepare as usual.

Care instructions

After use, gently tap out any remaining powder and clean the sieve with a dry brush or soft cloth. Avoid leaving moisture inside the sieve or container, as matcha powder is very sensitive to humidity.
